I've just recently started ordering from Guerrini and had to order a replacement chop yesterday because the two short rails were completely different than the long rails; different color, totally different figuring of the bird's eye. I've already ordered two of these chops that were perfectly fine so I assumed that it would be no problem to replace this chop. You know what they say about assuming.... They called me this morning to tell me that I should join it and give it to my customer and if the customer had a problem with it Guerrini would refund me the price of the chop but there was absolutely no way they were re-cutting another chop for me. Um, really?! So, they want me to offer a substandard frame to my customer to see if it will "pass", and if my customer doesn't like it she's just out of luck. And these two frames are supposed to hang together making the difference even that much more obvious.
And that's my rant, so my real question is, now that I'm taking all of their samples off the wall, does anybody have any recommendations for a supplier of inlay moulding?

Do you have a sales rep that can step in to the situation? I have not had any experience with this company but sales reps can work wonders when problems come up.

I ditto Global. Also, Bella has some inlays but not nearly the selection. As for sales reps, I haven't seen a rep from Guerrini since before they disappeared the first time, and that was ages ago.

I called to find out who my rep was, because I could swear that I ordered the samples from someone that stopped in to show them to me, but they told me they don't have reps. So, life is too short to mess around with them, I'll check out Global and I'm already a Bella customer so I'll take a look through their selection. Thanks for the tips:)

Just tell them the client rejected them. What are they going to do? Call you a liar? Make them fix it.

I know she's going to reject it, it looks horrible. The problem is that they told me if she rejects it they'll refund me the money but they won't cut another one. So she'll have half of her project done. It just seems so ridiculous.

I 12' of this in stock if you can't find it.

Aha! I sent them a picture and that did the trick, they're sending out a replacement tomorrow. I guess they didn't really believe me when I said the rails were very different. Cross your fingers folks, and thanks Gumby, I'll keep that in mind just in case.

Just so you know you aren't crazy, I got my samples from a rep.

I think they come and go with using reps.
