Currently we are getting more and more frames in with multiply pictures in the same frame and i have to work everything out by hand at the moment (Spacing etc.) Is there a program available that will allow you to say input that you have 4 pictures with their sizes and the mat size is a certain size and then it will work out your placement and maybe do a printout so that you can just transfer that to your mat board.

Regards

Moonie

Moonie, you can request a copy of Mat Designer from Wizard, it is a demo for their CMC but will do what you want. After becoming familar with using the software as you will, when ready to move up to a CMC, you will be prepared and familar with its operation.

I don’t have a computerized mat cutter (CMC), so for complex designs I use Adobe Illustrator. It is an easy thing to center and align openings and otherwise fiddle with a design. Once you get placement of the openings where you want them, you can use the measuring tool to note border widths.

Welcome to The Grumble, by the way. But, please flesh out your profile a bit so we know to whom we are speaking.

Wizard's MatDesigner® Basic - Free

Moonie,

Hello & Welcome to the Grumble.

MatDesigner® Basic is a free software program that will help you layout your mat designs, even the most complicated designs. It also allows you to print the designs with measurements to use as a guide for cutting the mats by hand.

If you’re interested, you can watch a couple of videos on MatDesigner: http://www.wizardint.com/product_details.cfm?pid=16

Feel free to send me an email or direct message and I’ll send a copy to you.

Best regards,
Wendy
