So this little old lady comes into the store yesterday with a bag under each arm.

Out of one she filches this old frame, about 24x20; and from the other she pulls this decorative carving, about 31x12. She says that she'd like me to cut down the frame so that the carving will fit inside it. "Just so the carving will rest against this little ledge", doncha know!

Well my dear, the longest leg of the frame is 24" and that's before I cut it and your carving is 31".

"That's no problem" she says "just take the little bits left over from the short sides when you cut those down and join em onto the 24" length. Just use some of those squiggly nails to join em together"!

So after a half hour's delightful chat, and some very much ignored suggestions as to how she might frame or otherwise hang her old carving, she bags them up again, and off she goes.

Never a dull moment!

You definitely have some interesting customers. Want a box of coconuts???? I know where to get em!

Well, just look where Andrew posts from. Everything loose rolls that way & stops or ends up in the ocean.

I had one of those in here yesterday. Wanted me to teach him everything about the framing business-he's interested in opening up a shop. I told him that I'd teach him all he needs to know, but for $100 per hour. That got him out of here like a bat out of you-know-where!

Well, who could blame him?

... I told him that I'd teach him all he needs to know, but for $100 per hour. That got him out of here like a bat out of you-know-where!

That hourly rate seems a bit high, Boggy, even for your neighborhood. I mean, for anyone who wants to learn all about framing, the going rate around here is under $80 per hour. And I guarantee it'll only take three hours.
