I was great! Gary Germaine CPF from Englewood, CO taught the 4 day class. He has a high end framing shop in Cherry Hills and taught us everything from mat cutting (v-grooves, offset cuts, reverse bevels, fillets, weighted) to joining to design. One morning he took us to his gallery and we were completely blown away by the things he did.

It was probably the most fun I've had in years. I screwed up a lot and some of the romance of framing was removed, but wow, I just wanna frame some more.

So yeah, now I've got the "bug"....:D

There is no...

There is no anitvirus serum for the framing bug - now you are done!!

Congrats on the class and make sure you continue to have fun!

Come see me when you get to New York - looking forward to meeting you.

Not far!

That's only about 2 - 2 1/2 hours from here. Not a bad drive, I think they have better weather in the winter though!

Good for you Rumblebelly, Gary is a good guy and very knowledgable.

Yeah, I liked his style...teaching-wise too. When we worked on our own projects, we'd ask him of his opinion and he'd usually say "what do you think?". Basically, he let us make our own mistakes and tried to force us to figure it out on our own rather than hold our hands the whole way through. My gray matter still hurts but I had fun.

I didn't find out he had a alt country band til the last day, which I thought was pretty neat since I'm really into music too. Anyway, he was a definitely fun and likeable guy.

Also, he didn't glorify the framing business like I thought he would.

Congratulations Rumblebelly

Glad you had a great experience at your class. Sorry we didn't have a school closer to you, but we are looking at Denver as a future location.

Good luck in your new venture, Albany sounds like a great place, as state capitols tend to have upscale demographics and a more transient population than most cities. Cost of living there is not too bad either.

Best of success to you.

Thank Rum. I split time between Bristol, CT and Clermont, FL. Of course, I'm on the road a lot too because of the school.
