Less would appreciate opinons on the best saw blades for the Pistorius saw. Less cuts larger moulding ( the usual stuff) and some hard wood. I bought several pairs of blades and had them sharpened. These things don't last very long before smokin Less out. There is another topic in there, but Less will wait.

I've been using WD Quinn which is one of the sponsors on the G. I have had great results with both their blades and sharpenings. I like their blades as much or better than the brands that cost twice as much.

I have yet to purchase a blade from Quinn, but I have had several sharpened by them and they do a great job. Am looking forward to the release of their new blades.

Less would have better luck in getting responses if he were to use Less obtuse titles to his threads.

Edit: I guess I meant less obtuse since we already have a Less obtuse title.

I've been happy with my Ultramitre blades and sharpening service. From the comments here I think I'd probably be just as happy with Quinn. Ultramitre is West Coast. Quinn is #### near in the center. I don't know if that's more or LESS of an issue for you.

I was happy with the on-site maintenance service of Ultramitre but it seems they have stopped coming and returning voicemails about it. That service doesn't have anything to do with blades or sharpening but it's why I might be going with Quinn next time.

I use both Quinn and Quality Saw and Knife.

I buy my blades from Quinn and have Quality sharpen them.

Why use both?

I used Quality for sharpening before I started buying blades from Quinn. I have been very satisfied with Quality for sharpening.

If I were closer to Quinn, I would use them for sharpening but Quality is 1 business day delivery (Long Island) vs 2 day for Quinn (St. Louis)and my average 25lb package is $4.00 cheaper to send to Quality. Quality usually has 1 day turnaround so I know that I will usually have my blades back in 3 days vs 5 for Quinn.

neilframer has always used ultramitre blades and their sharpening service for the CTD D45 saw.
neilframer has not had any problems with it, but has also heard many good comments about Quinn.
They're probably very similar, more or Less. (or is it Less is more?) :icon11:

Larry Peterson thinks that neilframer has been listening to less too much.

VH uses less sawblades because they use a Morso for all chopping!

Sorry...

For our type of moulding (finish, shape, size and species), IMO a chopper does a better job than a saw, is less dangerous, generates less waste, less dust, less (sounds like a machine for Less!) noise, AND you can see what you're doing better. We bought a Pistorius MN-300 a few years ago; it cost us over $13k. I doubt we cut 500 frames with it, and sold it 5 years later for $8k.
