I bought a Traco shrink wrap machine at the NY show. It came with a roll of SUPER SHRINK which is a center folded PVC film. It works well but I have no basis of comparison. I think it is the 75 gauge as it is quite thin. Is anyone familiar with the relative merits and specific uses of the 75 and 100 gauges?

Al,

The heavier gauge film shrinks more slowly (so it takes a little longer) but is less likely to burn through. I like the heaviest film I can get ahold of.

You might also want to look into archival-quality films, such as the ones available from Cornerstone Framing products...They have no plasticizers to cause you problems from outgassing.
