I have purchased a Fletcher 6100 CMC recently. It's located in St. Louis, MO.
Problem is, the seller is unable to find a anyone to crate it and ship it to our shop in El Paso, TX. I would appreciate any information regarding people to contact. Thanks.

Well there should be a UPS Store in St louis I am sure, And they will handled freight and crating for them. Also I am sure there are other compnies inSt Louis that can do this.

Why wasn;t shipping and crating discussed before making the purchase?

here are some UPS stores locations in St louis http://go.mappoint.net/ups/PrxResul...:32:&GAD4=USA&FC=UPS:WIFI&GAD44=United+States

And Craters & freighters http://www.cratersandfreighters.com/cf/locations.do has a place it st louis too

Being the seller couldn;t figure this out I would be leary of the condition of the CMC.

Any moving company could handle this.
Also a good framing (house)carpenter could build a crate. It would have to go with a freight shipper.
This should be very easy to find quite a few people who could build a crate for this.

Thanks for the tip. C & F quoted 1955.00 to crate x ship (1115.00 for crating). UPS was somewhere in the same ballpark. Bestway wouldn't crate it. The cheapest quote I received was from my wife - we're gonna drive up there and pick it up. haha. Could use a vacation anyway. Again, thanks.

I was going to suggest driving up and getting it but with all the great weather you all are having out there in the midwest, you might want to wait for the ice to melt a bit!!
That's how I got my first cutter. I drove my truck down to NJ and strapped it in place and off I went. Remember to find help lifting it as they are heavy.
It was quite a sight seeing three "mature" men with various body ailments ( back, knees, shoulders, etc.) trying to lift the whole machine, stand and all, into the back of my truck!! It's funny now.
