I dragged out my old quart of Laminall today and when I opened it up, it no longer smelled like Laminall. Does that mean it is past its "best by" date? Seems really watery and when I did a test of it, no sticking at all.

I have had this for many years - it does not smell foul (like some PVAs past their prime) - no odor at all. I cannot recall the last time I used it but it worked fine, whenever that was. :icon19:

I am sure it has never frozen, does this stuff just die of old age?

Should be good for 3 years to 5 or more . I buy cases of gallon jugs but never dilute it since I just shake it well and tip the jug to roll it out.

Is it still bright white and milky? Did you dilute it as specified on the container?

This quart must be over 20 years old - and I used it for a good 15 years or more, never realized it had to be diluted. It is like skim milk now - all of the lam is gone!

Most likely it wouldn't have lasted as long if diluted. Only 4 ounces of water per quart and it won't stay fresh for 20 years.
