We recently had a customer come in looking to frame a sword and shield that she had bought on a trip in Bhutan. Her son's a fencer and she wanted to put together something to display them for him.
The final job we put together included two mouldings stacked and a filet glued to the front. We used a Bainbridge silk mat for the back and sides. The sword and shield were attached using wire passed through a mdf baseboard at the back for stability. Oh, and we used museum glass.
