Hi! It's my first time on the Grumble. I'm looking for a good supplier for shadowbox frames. We are in Alaska, so would like a supplier on the West Coast if possible. Thanks for your help

Studio? Larson? Probably depends on what kind you're looking for. Welcome to the board.

Hey Colleen, Studio does have a nice line of shadow boxes,I dont get along with Larson, but thats another story. Williamson has some nice boxes but dont know if they are on west coast but doesnt take that long to get them, and they will send you free samples of their line and pretty quick too! Tell them I recomended them to you, and welcome to the grumble. Bro Bones

Colleen:

Welcome. Who are your suppliers now? No doubt they have shadow box mouldings in their offerings. The above suggestions are good. another is Arquati, the full line of which is carried by the Framing Fabrics in S. California, if my memory serves me. Framers' Inventory in Portland, and DJ in Idaho carry many lines, as well as Williamson. If you need more info, let me know.

Thanks Mel and Bones. I'll check with your suggestions. We currently buy from Jayeness in Seattle, Studio, and Framer's Inventory ( as soon as they send us a current catalog). Larson Juhl has "snubbed" us too. We frame a lot of 3-D items, native artifacts, ivory carvings, halibut hooks, etc. We made a shadowbox frame yesterday out of a 2 1/2" wide profile by cutting it upright. It turned out great! We will be experimenting with some other profiles. We appreciate your help.
