Just took 9 jerseys and a goalie's hockey stick and 2 hockey pucks.

Customer wants to have the stick. 2 pucks and a 16 x 20 photo in a shadowbox. He told me it was ok to put screws into the stick and pucks but they are signed and I would rather not do that.

What can I use to mount these items? I thought about mylar strips but don't know if they would work. Is there anythiing like mighty mounts that would work for either of these items?

Thanks in advance for your input

Two 1/2" wide clear film (Mylar) straps would provide plenty of support for each stick. What matters is the way the straps are terminated behind the mount board. Use 3M #889 double-sided tape and fold each end of each strap back over itself to lock the strap in place. Otherwise, tension might pull it loose (Mylar-D and Melinex 516 will not stretch, but they are slippery films). ATG will not work.

Black tulle wraps for the pucks.

You can find white tulle in the bridal section of the fabric store, but I'm a little afraid to ask where you find the black tulle.

Same store, different section.

I am currently framing one of my own personal sticks that I have collected over the years.
I have a Brian Boucher stick with a photo of him using it. Goalie sticks are a lot heavier than regular sticks - mylar strong enough to handle it?
Makeing the frame unbalanced as well?..
I would not drill a screw through them.
Most sticks today are composites or laminated composite materials over wood. It may splinter and splinter bad. Heaton sticks and some of the Sher-wood ones are horrible for breakage where the wood is many layers built up.
If you look around the internet you can actually find lucite stick holders that you could screw into a backing and "clip" the stick into the holder without any perminate modification to the stick. The paddle will be supported by another "shelf" type clip. THese are meant to hang a stick on the wall and work just fine. Wish I had the link handy.

These may work for the pucks.

If the photo is valuable, it should be kept
separate from the rubber of the pucks. This
is especially true if it is a black and white
photo, since the silver salts in the image can
be affected by sulfur given off by the rubber.
This separation could be acheived if the photo
is set behind glass under the window mat with
some effort to secure its edges and back side
behind plastic material or metal/plastic sealing
foil.

3 mil or 5 mil Mylar-D (not made since 2001) or Melinex 516 are plenty strong enough to support any hockey stick. I suggest two 1/2" straps. They would easily support 30 lbs., but more strap width is better.

As mentioned earlier, the way the straps are terminated is what determines their srength.

I know this doesn't address your problem but it may be of interest to you. Just recently we had a frame shop bring us a pile of hocky sticks to make frames out of. We cut up the sticks joined them then screwed from the back of a simple frame into the sticks. I have to admit I thought it was crazy but it turned out awesome. She framed a few jerseys this way. She told me she got the old used sticks at a play it again sports recycling store. She said the sticks were really cheap.
