I've now given up on sending PMs, and am looking to anyone on the grumble who can help me set up the poll for the framing contest.

The FAQs state that I can set up a poll when posting a new thread just by clicking "Yes, post a poll with this thread" -- problem is: this option does not appear.

Is there anyone out there who can help??????
 
Hang in there Julie, we want you to get the right kind of help, (well, you know what I am trying to say).

What the previous contest folks did is set up the poll in the poll forum, then emailed us to move it over.

Drop me an email after it's set up, and I'll be glad to move it into this forum and set it as a sticky post.

If you're unable to do that, for some reason, I can do it for ya in here with basic Q&A choices.. Then you can post the photos for the entries as replies.

Is it possible to provide the user id 'framing contest' access to set up the poll (as stated in the FAQ). That way there won't be any need to have additional people involved to make it happen. Keeps it simple!
 
Mike, the option to set up a poll does not exist in the Voting Poll forum.
 
As you are creating a post in that forum, it should be down underneath the typing box - (under the first submit reply button)

I know it works, but just in that forum. Bill has it set up with some kind of criteria, which may be # of posts. You certainly have a lot of posts, so i'll be surprised if you aren't able to do so.

We're not able to change it for just one user, unfortunately.

If you don't see the option there, let me know how many entries ther and and I'll be glad to add a poll for you. Actually, make the post first with the instructions and pictures - and I can attach a poll to it when you are finished. You can do that right here in this forum.

Checked again, and there is nothing indicated.

Since you are able to create a poll on you ID, obviously this means that the access for a moderator differs from a user; could the 'framing contest' ID be given moderator status? This ID is only used for the purpose of creating the poll.
 
Unfortunately, not. However, if you create the message with the entries in the format that has been used in the past; I'll be glad to turn it into a poll for ya.

...and how is that? when I look at the previous ones, they look like each entry is a separate thread. Is that correct?

Please give me the steps (process) and I will be glad to set the contest up.

I just looked back and found one. What they did is put each entry as its own post, in the same thread.

That way you wont exceed the maximum 5 photos per post rule, and it keeps it pretty organized.

The first post should probably explain the rules and give an introduction.

Once you're all done putting the entries in, let me know - and i'll be glad to attach a poll at the top of the message. Then folks can vote.

It looks like Lance assisted last time with this.
