Hi All,

I purchased a second hand Morso about a month ago and have been successfully making most frames. However I am a little concerned that the blades may not be set correctly. Both blades butt up nice and tight at the bottom but their is a small gap of approx 1mm between the blades at the top.

Is this of any concern?

Not neccessarily, the very tip of the blade.. [that leading edge] buries into the void between the backer plates during the last shave cut.

Prior to that cut, if the cut is "V-notching" cleanly is all you have to worry about.

There is a lot of play around the bolts and you should be able to marry up the entire leading edge; and it will become second nature about the fourth or fifth time you change blades.

Enjoy.
