The shop uses, and denotes, three sources of "Made In USA" moulding.
It has been an eye opening experience (even in this bleeding heart, hippy laden,
tree hugger, bicycle riding city) how many don't give a rip, and how many don't
about the price, but do about the "embedded carbon footprint".
The old chestnut about "made in China" is cheaper, just isn't holding true when
you start chopping around defects, cutting up and throwing away twisted sticks,
and spending your time getting four good legs out of three 10' sticks.
Then too, the same equipment (and fewer employees) are being utilized here
in the US, which provides a living wage that gets spent here in the US, providing
other jobs for heads of families here also.
Put them up. Frame a small American flag above it.... and learn about what,
how, and why the moulding is manufactured here . . instead of "over there".
