We periodically order and frame heavy brass plaques for certain departments at the University. We mount them on sanded dark blue acrylic or Cyro Acrylite Satin Ice Dark Blue 6198-0.
We have lost our supplier for this product and we need to find another.

Does anyone have an acrylic supplier that does not require a 5 sheet minumum of this product? It would take decades to use up five 4 x 8 sheets.

Or, does anyone have an alternate suggestion for mounting heavy brass plaques with a blue background (not mat or fabric--they will collect dust)?

LOL! sure does!

Seriously though, I'm always interested to hear how other university area frame shops get university business. Ours has just grown over the years with no solicitation on our part. In fact, Cal forbids solicitation and we were once seriously rapped on the knuckles for sending a mailer to U departments. We do more for some departments than others. If you ever want to compare notes offline, I'd be happy to.
 
Same here. We had an employee whos husband worked in the football dept. and got them first. That was like 12 or 13 years ago. We now have over 40 diferent Stanford accounts. We frame for almost every sports team on campus, including the Ballroom Dancing team. Combined they are our best client. In the end one dept refers another, who refers another and so on.
