Seal 500T-X pressure

I've messed up my mounting press... Seal 500T-X! Adjusted the pressure to mount a very thick item..... 1" thick. Now, I can't get the darn thing to close tight again on regular thickness material. I've gone through the manual, loosened the knurled pressure lockingnuts and turned the pressure adjusting srews every which way possible, but the lever arms will not stay at 45 degrees, they just flop right down! Help!!!

I feel your frustration

Try placing a piece of foam board in the press and lower the platen onto it. Don't push the bar down (although it may drop, if it's too loose).
Turn the screws on top until the bar starts to raise (are they threaded into the adjustment on top?). This should let you get back to that 45 degree angle that is recommended. Good luck

Maybe the screws have disengaged.
