We have a few 10 100 tooth blade wood/metal from ultra miter I use this for wood and metal. The other day I was on the phone with Ultra miter wanted to buy blades for just metals, I was told to buy wood blades and use them only on the woods use the wood/metal on the metals.
What do you use and is there a Metal only blade? 10" 100 Tooth

I,ve been using their wood/metal blades for 20 years for BOTH. Work great. It seems a pain to have to switch out blades, unless you only cut metal onec in a while.
Also, check with Ultramite. I think they were running a special at the Vegas show. Ask if they will honor it.

Give Bill at Quinn saw a call for a second opinion. Quinn is a sponsor on the G and has tons of knowledge, great products and prices. Even if you are buying the blades from Ultra Miter he will tell you what you need to know.

I have to agree with Ultramiter with their suggestion. Blades sold as wood/metal cutting typically have a triple chip (TCG) tooth form. This tooth form is designed to cut metal, BUT you can also cut wood with them. However a Wood only blade (with the ATB+R tooth form) is only for wood and will give you a superior finish compared to the TCG tooth form.

Rules of thumb: TCG is best for metal, ATB+R is best for wood. You can cut wood with TCG, but you should not cut metal with ATB+R. Also, always lubricate when sawing metal.

Bear in mind that when cutting certain materials (like aluminum) the blade cuts less efficiently because of material adhering to the tooth rather than the tooth losing an edge!
