One of the things I'm going to look at next week at the show is a mitre (or is it miter) sander. Can anyone give me an idea as to how much I'm looking at?

I paid $450 for the ITW/AMP sander at J&W Specialties last year. Regular price was $475.

Worth every penny.

Depending upon what kind of "show specials" will be offered, expect to pay in the neighborhood of $430 - $450 for an ITW/AMP sander. I have this sander and like it very much.

I REALLY need to learn how to type faster than Ron.

iceref,

If you are serious about getting one, I'd make sure that I priced around at the show , once you have found the best price, BUY it. Pay for it and have them hold it back for you untill you are ready to lug it out to the car. Mabe you can borrow someones cart or dolly. Or better yet, If Ron is there mabe he will offer to carry it for you. ;) If you have to have one shipped , you can expect to pay allot.

Last year the cheapest one that I found was J&W Specialties, the guy Ron mentioned. He was a real nice guy also.

Good luck, You won't regret the purchase.

About 40-50 pounds. BYOC.

(chiropractor) ;)

I just got a flyer from Logan and they have a new sander costing around $170. It kinda looks cheap but it may get the job done. I have the ITW/AMP sander and love it.

My boss found a sander from a person going out of business. I think he paid $300? He looks at the corners now and is quite happy. I say go with the ITW/AMP sander. It is a bit expensive yes, but it will last for years. iIf you treat it well, you should be able to give it to your kids in forty years when they want a frame shop.
