Greetings all:

I need to reduce my art inventory and I am loathe to use the word "Sale" in connection with art....

But other stores in the area did that and they sold a lot.

I am tempted to use the term "Inventory Reduction" instead. What do you think? Or am I being too "Politically Correct"??

I'd definitely use the word sale, even if it's in conjunction with "inventory reduction". People want to feel they are getting a bargain. There's no enticement to attend an inventory reduction; there's an inducement to going to a sale.

I'd have to agree. Although 'Sale' is often overused, it fits in okay this time of the year. 'Inventory Reduction' doesn't do anything to create a positive image in the consumers mind.

Sale - "making room for new inventory"... unless you don't intend to bring in new inventory. Then "sale" alone works.
