S5 Auto shut off question

When the S5 is connected to the power, instead of the batteries, it does not completely power down. It goes into a sleep mode but the orange power light is always lit. It does state in the manual that some power is always going to the camera but this must only be when the camera is plugged in. When the camera is only powered by batteries it turns completely off. Does anyone know if it harms the camera to not physically shut it off, leaving it in a sleep mode, or do I need to turn it on and off everyday.
 
Its perfectly ok in this mode. It's in sleep mode and almost all of the electronics are powered down. It's in a standby mode, and wakes up when you load FrameVue. You'll notice the lense will move when this happens.
