Hi all,

I am working on a small project.

We are making a few short (30 seconds) videos for a website project.

I need 10 seconds of lead in/out music while it fades in/out of black. I don't want to pay for rights for such a small short project. i am not even all that fussy about what it sounds like.

Does anyone have a site in mind that you can legally download music where there is no charge, or royalty fees and NOT break the law.

Thanks,

Bob

Hey .. let me make it for you .. I picture flugelhorns capped with whale song ... and a bell... .. .. .. .. yeah... that's the ticket .. actually .. the above suggestion looks like a good one .. good luck on your project..

google exactly that and there are several sites. . . some cost like $.50 or a buck to down load.... some just ask for support.
You can go nuts wading through everything..... The music on my DVD was "open source" but they were asking for support.... I sent them $5 and got a personal thank you..... you would have though no one ever did that.

Thank you everyone.

Once again a big help from the Grumble.

Have a great day everybody.

Bob

A bell...... "It needs more cowbells"

However, you could try searching for it on Limewire.

You might want to take that back... just because its on the internet doesn't make it free. Limewire, especially, will be glad to serve you all kind of copyrighted music that will get you deep in jail if you get caught. For any public performance, I would highly recommend NOT going that route.

Another alternative is to hit up a creative site, put a posting on Craigslist asking for a composers help. Lots of saps out there just want to do it for fun and credit.

It should be noted that if you want to use real commercial music in your project, BMI and ASCAP (who license the music) have a real easy on-line form to setup the licensing. Yes you do have to pay per play... but at least you can.

Just a heads up guys, this is an old post from August that gets revived every so often.

I got some music legally from one of the suggestions.

Thanks All,

Bob
