This was sent to me from Curt his son!~
I thought I would pass it on for those who knew Him!~

You may or may not have heard, but my father, Ron Mikulla, passed
away this past Friday, Aug. 17th. He died at his home of a sudden
heart attack. While it was sudden, it was not totally unexpected.
My Dad loved life, and all of it's pleasures. Maybe a little too
much, as most of you know. But that's what made Ron the wonderful
person he was.

A brief memorial service will be held for him this Friday, Aug. 24th
at Resurrection Cemetery on the northside of Columbus, Ohio.
Afterwards, we are going to celebrate his life at Mary Kelly's, his
favorite restaurant/bar in Dublin. For additional information,
please visit the Mikulla family's website: http://

Just so you know, I plan on sending out a letter to all International
Moulding customers in the next week to ten days. I apologize in
advance if I duplicate my message to you - but I do not have
everyone's email address, and many of the addresses I have may not be
functioning any longer.

The last thing I would like to say is that Mikulla & Associates
(selling International Moulding) will carry on without my father. I
don't like it, but that's what dad would have wanted! You may call
or fax any orders you have into my office. The toll free number is
1-888-588-2467 and the fax is (317) 255-3144. You can also reach me
via email: curtmikulla@gmail.com or by cellphone: (317) 201-7676.

I especially want to thank those of you who have contacted me to give
your condolences to the Mikulla family. The funny and heartfelt
stories regarding my father has made the past 5 days bearable. He
was a man that loved people, and life itself. He will be missed....

Jim, I didn't know Ron but this was quite touching.

He called me... A fun rememberance...

My condolences to the Mikulla family.

I'll share a story...

One day, out of the blue, the phone rang and I answered it. It was Ron Mikulla. He had read a post that I had authored. He told me that he was calling because he liked my posts and he thought I had a sense of humor and wanted to call me and give me some advice. He also told me that he was a friend of Edie's. We had a nice long chat, he had me laughing and wishing that I could meeting him. He left me with his phone number and told me that I could call him ANY TIME with any questions.

I have to say, that I enjoyed that phone conversation and I still have his name and phone number posted on a sheet of paper taped to my computer monitor with his name, phone number and a few other notes.

I didn't know Ron, and only had the one conversation, but I thought about him and the conversation many times when I looked at this note and remembered the enjoyable conversation.

My condolences to the family, and my regrets for not having more conversations with Ron.

Kindest regards

Elaine

Well I will raise a glass for everyone tomorrow at after the service. Ron didn't post but a few times on the Grumble, but he read it daily and would often call me to discuss different threads.

There is little less in the framing community because of his passing!~
Up side There are a whole lot of other frames who went before him!~
That he will now be keeping company with!~

See ya sooner or later Ron!~

Yup, Ron would call me regularly and he knew ALL the GOOD gossip! I think Ron was one of the first reps to find me ummmm, 20 years ago when I first opened up shop. Williamson, wasn't it? He loved hearing about the trade shows if he wasn't able to attend. He truly had a passion for this business, he knew it and its folk inside and out. You could ask him any question and he would know the answer off the top of his head.

Anyway, Ron liked to ask me about certain posts on TG, I think we lost one of our most prolific lurkers.

BUT what Ron leaves is at least one equally passionate son, Curt (you have a brother in the biz, right, Curt?) who runs a very fine business, Aspen Moulding. His spirit truly lives on.

Rest In Peace, Ron. Hope I am able to catch up with you again someday.

Edie the sad FG
