Ron, Marc, Why was my post removed?

Your post is with all it's buddies in the Computer Forum .

If you scroll down on that page you will find some good stuff relating to your question.

On "The Grumble" part of the grumble, the goal is as little as possible actual meddling by the moderators.

But stuff really should go in the place where it belongs. Sure there is lots of "grey area" posts, and they are left alone.

But because of the way this BB works, it takes a biggun amount of memory for the servers to do what they do. The big reason is the search function. With the new servers (owned by the people who developed the software) they are equiped to handle the resources needed. But the bigger the amount of stuff it needs to sift thru . . .In the end, it is better if clearly related topics go together.

While I understand you want to post it on The "G" so it gets the most readers, it also have the likelyhood of being a post with just one or two responses, and the responses being one liners like: " Yeah, we have &*^(*%^#(*'s program, have used it for 6mos and love it." But I think you want a more thoughtful answer.

I have noticed that The Techie Forum will yield more thougtful anwers. Often with the info you are looking for. On The Grumble if a post doesn't "stick" right away, it just moves down into oblivion. But posts on the topic sepcific forums get a longer time of activity.

We could just let the thread get "stale" in about a week and move it there anyways and you might not even notice.

No wonder I feel at-home on The Grumble. It's JUST LIKE HOME!

At the Eggers house, anytime someone doesn't know what to do with something, they stick it in my office. It's a very small office!

Periodically, I announce to my family that if there's anything in there they actually need - or will ever need - they'd better retrieve it soon. After my ultimatum is ignored for about 24 hours, I gather everything up and haul it down to the basement in my store, which is very much like throwing it out, but without overtaxing the county landfill. A few days later, someone will be looking for something that used to be in my office.

You can only imagine what my basement looks like at the shop - and why I can't find the Seal perforator I promised Kit about a year ago.
