You know.... I was gonna enter this in the current "Wedding" Framing Competition, but I don't think it is good enough....

....so I'll just post it separately :)

- 4 mat layers (Bainbridge Artcare 8020 Red Rave/ black / white / black)
- 2nd mat is "black on black core"
- overall size is about 33" x 26"

- Cut on a GUNNAR F1 CMC

I'm sure there's a few old "rockers" out there who will appreciate this :)

Cheers,

Jared

Now if only you did Fantasy stuff....Oh I have ideas..."sigh". L.

Amazing, as always.

What do you use to stick the little tiny mat pieces on with?

Actually, there are no tiny pieces of matboard to stick back in.

It is all just "holes" layered on top of contrasting coloured mats. Thus is it 4 layers in total.

I could probably do it in 2 or 3 layers, if I stuck back the tiny fallout pieces, but it is messy, tedious, inaccurate and doesn't offer as much depth... but it slightly is harder on the brain :)

Cheers,

Jared

Angus! Angus! Angus!

Hey! I'm not an old rocker!

Then again, I was complaining about how Metallica is now considered "classic" rock. Gah. I miss Cliff Burton.

Actually, my hubby brought up something interesting when we were talking about Joy Division: I had quoted a documentary that no band survived the death of the lead singer. Brian counters with "AC/DC."

Music junkie aside.

Luddite, I agree wholeheartedly, but for now, I'll just stare at the Wolverine icon.

As expected

Just what I've come to expect from you! This rocks, just slightly harder...yeah right! Keep 'em coming Jared

Looks Great Jared :)

Question, what do you do with these when you get them done?
Selling them would most likely violate the artists rights.

I don't sell my finished pieces.

If I did, the only questionable part would be the band "logo" itself... but the artwork of the guitarist himself is 100% my own work, and potentially saleable.

Just like an artist may paint a portrait on canvas of someone famous, likewise I do the same, but in my case "matboard" is my medium, rather than canvas and oil paint.

I also don't name the artwork after the person of likeness or the band in this case... this one is simpy called "Rock Schoolboy"...

Cheers,

Jared
