Does anyone know of a vendor in the midwest other than Vicki Shober where I can purchase Rising Matboards?

As with Amy, I'm really getting ticked by customer service right now.

Thank you,
Sarah

Sarah,
The national distributor for Rising boards is Legion Paper.
800-278-4478
The contact is Jon Dorfman ext.228 (last I heard)

This was gleened from the Grumble Archives.

Anne-

I have been waiting for warm white in 32 x 40 and 40 x 60 for over two weeks now and still have no answer when the matboard will be in. I also need 48 x 96 and 60 x 104, and I find myself actually arguing with them to sell me the product. I can understand her worry of how to ship the material with no damage; but why am I, as the consumer, coming up with solutions rather than getting the answer "I'd be happy to. It will cost $ amount and we will do our best." I just find it interesting that my small business goes over and beyond to offer the best customer service; but I fight and fight to get some kind of customer service from my vendors. Just tired and frustrated, I guess. And I decided to find a different solution for the Chuck Close piece I am framing. Unfortunately, VS was just the last straw in the day.

Sorry for the rant.

Small Corp stopped handling mat board last spring. Sold off all the Rising they had at really good prices. That is why I suggested contacting the national distributor.

Sarah, I understand and sympathize with your frustration. The national distributor should be made aware of your problem in aquiring their product so they can assist the local distributor in getting you what you need. I have had to switch from Rising to special ordering Bainbridge 48 x 96 4-ply white because of the difficulty in getting the Rising product in my area. I don't really know what I'll do if I ever need to get the really big stuff.

Here you go Sarah,

Yes, they ship by all common carriers.

the 48x96 and 60x104 would be rolled up and most likely come in about 7 pieces suitable for burning.

FI's customer service is very good and more understanding than some that are rated highly here.

They also carry some great lines of moulding. And no, I don't rep for them.... just a very satisfied customer.

I have to wonder if the problem is with Rising and not with Vicki Schober. Several people have mention having trouble getting Rising. Wally said he had to switch to Bainbridge because of difficulties getting Rising. You may simply be caught in a supply chain reaction. The distributor you get it from has trouble getting it from their distributor who has trouble getting it from the manufacturer. On fortunately, it happens more frequently than we all would like.
