Just heard on NPR that Ed Bradley, the TV journalist most recently of 60 minutes, passes away this morning after battling leukemia.
One of the classiest men in the business...he will be missed.

Sorry to hear that news.

I was always impressed with Ed Bradley's poise and common sense approach to many of his interviews and most of his coverage of the Viet Nam war. He never let his race nor his color enter into his coverage of the news even when the racial flareups were at their worst in California and other areas of the country throughout the 70's and on into the present day.

I always thought that he was a real ballsey kinda guy always sporting an earring when it was definitely NOT the norm to do so in the journalism world. (At least for a guy.) I have always admired that sort of independance in a public figure.

Wow, I hadn't heard. Ed Bradley was such a steadfast unruffleable(may have invented that word)reporter. He was clearly kind and very empathetic as a reporter. I will miss him.

I remember him interviewing Lena Horne once. She was already into her 70's, but still quite stunning looking. Ed was obviously taken with her and he let her know it. Professional, but very open and direct. It was pretty sweet really. RIP, Ed.
 Rick

Larry King is doing a segment on him, literally as I write. (check the re-runs if you missed it.)

What stories do you think he and Peter Jennings are telling tonight?

RIP - is right
