Our Cassese CS910 Jr. underpinner recently started hissing when the air lever was turned on. It did not seem to affect the nail-driving capability of the machine, but this was very annoying. We had to turn it on every time we used it, and turn it off after. The problem was in a failed/failing rod seal in the air cylinder that drives the nail.
The CS910 came out in 1991, and this seal is not available from Active Sales or LJ.
We found suitable replacement seals at alleghenyyork.com. On their website, search for EU-25x35. The exact replacement would be EU-25x35x11.2, which A-Y did not have. We bought EU-25x35x10.4 which was close enough. (Normally "close enough" doesn't work with seals, fyi. Not a problem in this case.)
The seals are $11.02 each, we bought 2, (we have 2 machines) got them in a week for about $30 total delivered. A quick disassembly and we were back in business. No hiss.
Several Grumblers, including Joe Weinbeck of jb picture framing of Blaine, Minn., were especially helpful to us as we searched for a solution. A tip of the hat to Joe!
