I have a designer customer who really likes to use the wide flat metallic Bonanza Woods, especially for mirrors. Unfortunately, I've been finding that these days they scratch if you look at them wrong -- the batch before last came conveniently pre-scratched by the vendor, the next one scratched really easily as well. Does anybody know of anything with the same look but better durability?

Michelangelo has some, but they, too, come pre-scratched and pre-dinged. I gave up, threw the wasted 27 feet out, and bought chops. Like you, I lost money on the job.

And ditched the corner samples.

That scratching has been an issue from the start. Yes, I lost money on a job too and have pulled the samples. Simply not worth it. No, I have not found a satisfactory replacement yet in that price range. Maybe suggest the new Belair line?

Well, this designer is one of my best customers and she *really* likes that look.

Did you find that you got better results when you ordered chop? I might start doing that for the few times that she calls for these. I may also pull the samples and put them under the counter just for her...

Chop worked for me, and, it gets revenge on the supplier. Now they have all the problems.
