I want to put some stickers on moulding samples and remove them later without destroying the samples. I was thinking about using something by Avery but the glue on their stickers are just easier to remove than tattoos. Is there any way to “loosen” the glue to make it function more like post-it notes and less like wallpaper?

Thanks!

PS Is it Monday already?

A heat gun will soften the adhesive of labels without any chemicals. It the adhesive is too weak they won't stay on when you need them to stay on.

Assuming you’re intending to place the labels on the back (unfinished) side of the moulding, Avery-type labels work well in our shop.

If we need to remove them, a few drops of lighter fluid (Ronsonol®) does the trick. Leave the lighter fluid on for a few seconds and the adhesive gets gummy enough so you can remove the label. Then wipe off the adhesive residue with a paper towel.
