This will end up being a Christmas present for my 21 yr old daughter who returns from studying at the Florence Institute of the Arts on December 20th. Something to remember her semester abroad.
Molly at Artaissance says it is one of their best selling images.
Dave, the pears is one of my favorite. Why don't you make the third one just a smaller version of one of the others, and on a different medium, to demonstrate custom sizing and printing?
Sounds like we'll find out soon whether we want
to or not. I like the Artaissance pieces that we've
framed, but they haven't sold. People compliment the
art and the framing, they just don't buy them. I hope
the right person will come in and change that soon.
Talk to Artaissance if you want to set up something like this idea, one image in several sizes. I have an image in three sizes on my wall with our own Artaissance poster framed next to it. Artaissance gave me a good deal on this display. I started with my rep. I figured it would not hurt to ask.
I have been pondering this offer and like the landscapes by Miller, Marty and Henning. I am thinking about getting three all the same width and hanging them in a vertical column on my back wall in canvas.
To do this right you need to order great looking moulding so they really stand out. Your LJ rep should be able help with a deal on the frames for display. How are you planning to frame them, Dave? I would love to see photos when they are done.
I ordered 34 x 34 of the first two images and 27 X 32 5/8 on the Tuscany landscape.
Retail cost was 351.00 for the first two and 353.00 for the landscape.
Not sure how I plan to frame them yet. I did sign up for their gift certificate program.
I'm hoping with proper display to have some decent sales. I recently signed up with GBC and have a large display image and just recently sold my first one.
This is my GBC canvas in a 72" x 24". My sale was for a smaller version of the same Sequoias image (12" X 36").
Dave,
I really like that GBC image. Where did you hear about this company? Is this the site? I just applied for an account.
Are you selling them with or without frames?
I think I received an email offer from them. Check and see if they still have the display special available. It was a $ 100.00 net credit for any display piece. Thus the Sequoia image cost me something like 37.50 with shipping.
Although they also sell direct to customers on the net from their site (they sell at retail + shipping) but give you the ability to link to their site with your prices and logo/company info, shipping charges, etc.etc. I think I have my site set up as a keystone markup + 14.95 shipping included in the listed price.
I don't have my site up yet so I just give the URL out to customers to search much like Artiassance.
They have several options for stretching both regular and gallery style and a flat $ 14.95 shipping fee no matter if you order it stretched or rolled. Their cost on stretching is nominal so I would just order it pre-stretched.
They include honeycomb hangers with the stretched image.
I'll sell them either way... framed or gallery wrapped. The Sequoia image I have is gallery wrapped and I plan on putting a floater frame on it but haven't gotten to it yet.
How are subsequent GBC sales going Dave? I like your image choice. The forest scenes are especially appealing because there is a somewhat abstract feel to them. Some of the images are too Kodacrome bright for me. They might work in offices, but not in a residential setting. Have you shown these to any corporate contacts?
Except for the one sale of the same image I haven't sold another one as of yet although I am not in a high foot traffic location. There has been a fair amount of interest though.
I haven't shown this to any corporate clients yet but do intend to email the site to an interior design firm that does corporate space. I just completed a job for them and I think they would be a good candidate. Thanks for the reminder...
