This was a check of the registration process. It works perfect.

When you register you MUST give a real email address. An email is then sent out and you should 99% of the time have it in less than 5 minutes.

If you don't receive this email, check your spam filter and or add framer@thegrumble.com to you accepted sites list.

You MUST click on a link in this email to verify your email address. You are then connected to The Grumble and your account status is updated. If you fail to verify your email account within 24 hours the link becomes no good. You will need to use the lost password link to generate a new email to verify the account.

If you send me an email that you didn't receive an email you will get a url to this message. Read it.

You will not become a full member and listed on the members list until you have posted 20 times. DON'T just post junk. 20 posts is not that many.

Now that was not hard was it.

This is clearly a scam.

Someone ought to alert Bill that The Grumble has been hijacked.
;)

But every day emails arrive with, I registered but can't post, I never got an email...:bdh:

90% are from AOL mail users, hint hint hint...

Note to spammers, you're wasting your time, all spam is removed very fast and your account banned.

There's definitely some registration issues..... And NO, I'm not on AOL.

I'd just like to point out to 'framer testperson3' that the registration process DOES NOT WORK PERFECTLY!!! I've waited four days for an email which never came. I do NOT have any blocking software running and I register for sites like this ALL THE TIME without any problems. I actually had to create a new email, which I'm sure I'll never remember nor check if someone ever attempts to contact me from this site (just frustrating, because I asked for help from two different administrators and send a request through the help link, which no one replied).... Regardless, glad to be here now. Just wish I could have my account linked to my actual email, not a made up one.

Many of the free email services block computer generated messages, such as verification emails from forum programs which have a link to click, receipts from online purchases, etc. Their spam filters tend to be a bit too aggressive, and this is beyond our control.

If it was on AOL, HOTMAIL, MSN, VERIZON, or a couple others.... A lot of folks never receive their emails. We should probably consider banning those domains from registering, with a polite explanation. This might reduce frustration. gmail is generally ok, as well as most other frame shop/business domains.

For the above, sometimes the solution is to check the bulk or spam folder. For some of them, adding FRAMER@thegrumb??.com (I purposely put ?? instead of LE, so it doesn't get harvested by spammers) to your contact list, it will allow these emails to come through. This tells their system that you want to receive emails from this forum.

There was also an issue for a day or two last week, when the forum's server was upgraded/replaced. There was a temporary software issue which prevented ANY emails from leaving the system, including verifications. Framer (Bill, our forum owner and operator) was quick to identify and correct this, which may have been around the time you registered.

In any case, we're glad that you made it. Welcome to the G!

Mike
