I've got an old Red Devil #1 point setting tool and I can't find points! Had it for about 20 years, it was in a box of old tools in a building I was using in the 80's. Don't know any specifications and haven't used it in forever but pulled it out this evening to mount a "certificate" and discovered the seemingly never ending supply of points had ended.....Does anyone have any sources? Lacking that is there anyone out there who has points or who has a "thing" for old tools and could give it a good home (NOT FOR FREE!!)? I'm not a framer, rather a cabinetmaker and the tool is useful but mostly idle and I'd like to use it more.
I can post a photo if needed but we only have dial up out here in the boonies and it takes forever. Let me know what is needed....

Maybe you could link to a picture already on-line, maybe an EBay auction! I live in the boonies to so I know how bad dialup can be.

United Manufacturing (link above) has #1 points, I think. Aren't these the diamond shaped ones? I had ordered them for a customer once that had that point gun. Really cool looking tool! Call them and ask. I haven't tried out their on-line site in forever and haven't tried it from home so I don't know how long it would take to download the pages! Many sites like those I either cruise at work or go to the library for high speed access.

The following are the United Mfg. catalog numbers

#3616 - Waxless Diamond Points #2 (large diamond)

#3671 - Waxless No. 1 Diamond Points (small diamond)

#3362 - Waxless Stacked Triangle Points (triangle that uses a special gun)

I have a box of original No. 2 Red Devil diamond glaziers points. I will share some with you if you can not find a source.

Minimum order at United is $35 so I ordered #1 and #2....if the #2 don't fit my machine I'll let you know and send them your way.
thanks for the lead!
