I have a friend who sends me emails but I cannot sent any to him, even with hitting the reply button. About three or four years ago he changed his location, ISP and email address. I send the email to his new address (newname@newISP.com) and I get it returned by the Mail Administrator informing me it is a 5.1.1 error, recipient address rejected at oldname@oldISP.com.

What the heck???

I tried from all of my separate email accounts with the same response.

How can something addressed to the correct (as of 5 minutes ago) address keep getting sent to the wrong address?????

This makes NO SENSE!!!

Each time I type the address even though the correct address is listed in my contacts. I can see if I was entering the name incorrectly but for the ISP to keep getting switched (back to aol - does anyone still use aol???).

Maybe he forwarded one account to the other and forgot that he did it and it finally expired.

The only thing worse than AOL is Earthlink. Earthlink clutters the airwaves with darn "Challenge" emails. Well, automated ecommerce sites don't respond to those, so the emails just start bouncing back and forth. We received an email asking for the email address to whitelist. Well, the darn challenge prevents the response from being received so they'll never know that they need to whitelist the entire domain. I refuse to respond to those challenge emails.
