I have had problems with my Framers Edge matt cutter. I have had periodic problems with overcuts and hooking. The other day my bevel cutter failed to cut through my matt board. I have always used production stops as I do not have that steady of a hand to stop at the marks. The manual describes depth adjustments that can be made, but I have been reluctant to mess with these out of fear that I may do more harm than good. They also indicate that the bearings may need to be replaced after a period of time. I have had my matt cutter since 2004, but I am just a hobbyist. They indicate that the bearings usually wear out after a period of four years. What mystifyies me is that this happened all of a suddden. Yes I always have a piece of matting when I cut, and yes the bottom is on a level surface. Does anyone have any insights in regard to this problem?
