I was wondering what the preferred technique is to finish picture frame cuts for the home based do it yourselfer. I have heard something about the Lion Trimmer from Pootatuck, but it seems like they might be out of buisness now. I can't afford to spend more than a coulpe of hundred bucks on a trimmer or sander so I want to get the best for my money. Also any thoughts on the best miter boxes or electric saws would be appreciated. Thank you in advance.

Why don't you just go to your cheap frame supplier and get something from them.
After all what could us over priced framers that took years to amass a broad knowledge about art and materials that you mastered in an afternoon possibly have to tell you.
