I want to frame an article from a glossy magazine. But of course, there is another article on the back side of the page. Is there anything I can do to make it so that the article on the back isn't visible through the thin paper? I don't want to just make a color copy and frame it because I don't think the quality would be as clear as the original page in the magazine. I contacted the magazine to see about getting a one-sided copy of only my side of the page but they only have two sided copies available.

Mount the article on a dark gray or black mat board. I prefer the grays as sometimes the black is too dark. Knocks down most if not all of the shadow article on the back.

I use black speedmount. Works great.

  1. If you are proficient in Photoshop yourself, or know someone who is, the best plan is to scan, retouch, and print on quality paper
  2. Second best option is to mount on a black / dark gray substrate. I like to use 4-ply and Fusion 4000, or black Speedmount.

Welcome to the "G", ses!

I also mount on a dark gray or black board. Just used black Speedmount to mount a newspaper article ...works great.

Thanks! (more)

Thanks to everyone who replied. Duh, such a simple fix! I'll try that.
