Way back in the mid 80's we purchased some beautiful oak print files from a company called Quercus. They have held up so well and still look terrific. I recently broke a handle (my fault.) Does anyone have any information on this company?

PS: I believe that they advertised in Decor (the only magazine then) and might have been at some of the trade shows. I believe that the owner was originally from an Eastern European country.

Somewhat remember the company from the late 80's but have no info today. As for your broken handle try Outwater Plastics at www.outwater.com or visit your local kitchen cabinet seller to see if the can order you a replacement. Matching a handle should be relatively easy.

The handles are I believe of the same oak that the cabinets are made from.

I've seen oak handles at Lowe's, Home Depot, etc.

Odd you should mention Quercus, I was putting away some of the original paperwork from 1990 when we opened and happened to find our invoice for our oak flatfile cabinet. I don't know if the number is still good but it's 312-791-0757.

For some reason I have a spare handle that's been in one of the drawers forever.
