Putting the Task Bar Back

Mac? Click and drag it to where you want it. PC might be able to click and drag or may have to right click and do the properties thing.

For me, if it's a wireless mouse then the batteries may be dying and the clicking becomes a ctrl click issue, but fresh batteries help to fix it....

It's a PC. I tried clicking and dragging but it just made it bigger. It wouldn't move it back down to where it was before. I looked all through properties and couldn't find where you can set the location of it.

The machine runs XPpro if that's a help. I was working in PS2 at the time using my Wacom pen. Other strange things were going on also. I seem to have developed an issue with a sticky space bar on the keyboard but I don't have a spare keyboard for this computer. It needs one that connects using a usb port.

OK, Windows says...

Task bar has to be "unlocked" then it says you can click and drag as long as you click in an "unused" area of the task bar. If you need help getting a good grab then close programs, that'll free the task bar of clutter.

Works but when I moved it to the side it was hard to actually click and drag an "unused" spot. Had to be right smack dab in the middle. After you get it back to the bottom of the screen "lock it". I like the look f the locked taskbar, no little seperator lines, just a "cleaner" look.

Thanks Bob. I tried clicking and dragging again, this time with the mouse for the Wacom instead of the pen, and it worked! All back to normal. I think it must have gotten accidentally clicked on when I was trying to bring a photo back up that I had minimized to the bottom of the screen. With the sticking issues I was experiencing, it somehow didn't let go of it when I moved the cursor off and dragged it to the side.

Just one more thing that has gone wrong today! :icon45:

For the computationally challenged, how does one go about locking the task bar? There must be something on the keyboard that, when stepped on by a cat, makes it go away and I have to go hunting for it.

So I could use that info,

Thanks!

People look at me funny when I sing "Rock the catbox," and then start laughing hysterically. Sometimes I think folks wish they could shut me up with a simple Ctrl/Alt/Delete. ;)

Something weird happened and now the task bar that should be on the bottom of my computer screen is on the side. I have no clue how it got there and haven't been able to make it go back. Help!

If this is a Windows system, just drag it with the mouse to where you want it. If it doesn't move, right click on the menu and make sure "Lock the taskbar" does not have a checkmark next to it. Then try dragging again.

Oops! Didn't see that this was already answered. Sorry!

Eeeeew, Mar! I'm not touching the catbox without gloves on! It's definitely not something I'd want to rock!
