I have a great client that lets me have fun. Here is the latest that we have done for him. He brought in the signed photo and said have fun. We briefly discussed budget and that he wanted a plate to say
Pittsburgh Penguins
2008 Winter Classic

I went on Ebay and found an official puck from the game. I then cut a slot in the puck with my Dewalt miter saw (it has a blade height stop) to fit around the frame. I then glued and screwed the puck to the frame after it was fit.

To all the think it sacrilege to cut a collectible puck, it was $12 including shipping so Puck Off!!! :smileyshot22:

Cool Dave!

Seeing no blood on the project, I assume you devised some sort of hold down while grooving out the back of the puck. Glad you still got all of your fingers. :D

I did something like that one time to the back of a cabinet drawer front in order to install an electrical switch. Almost lost my finger, that's the problem when you are too familiar with your tools, you sometimes take stupid chances. Most guys who have had an accident with power tools are the ones who are the most experienced, I've found.

Just held in by hand, I did only do 1/2 and then rotated it so the blade was farther away from my hand.
I can still count to 21, but I have to be naked.

No, it is from Design Guild #507101. Mats are artique 4858 over bainbridge 8584.

you mixed artique and bainbridge???? You apostate!!! And how is it you attached that puck to the frame? Silicone?????

HEATHEN!!!!

Dave I have to say love the thread title! :D
The picture is great! I wish I actually knew something about hockey!

Cool idea. Get it? "Cool"....hockey....yeah, I know I'm reaching here.

I won't say anything about the team :-P

Great design! You sure put the 'custom' into that custom frame.:thumbsup:
