Problem loading old customer data into Wizard RM

I have had Wizard Retail Management on my shop computers for several months now and have not switched over to using it as my POS system because it will not let me import the older customer data.

This is a major PITA because most of my customers are repeat customers.

Normally a system that uses a database provides a means to import or convert older databases.

I am using Wizard RM only for price checks on new mouldings. I will continue to use my own POS system to run the business until Wizard figures out a fix for this problem..

Has anyone figured out a way to load data about past projects into Wizard RM?

Alternatively, are there competitive POS systems that provide tools for importing existing customer data? I am open to any reasonable alternative.

This topic has been covered before. Most, if not all POS system providers will convert the customer information easily.

The problem with the "work order" information is that the data calculation formulas for all are not equal. Thus they are not convertible.

It has been suggested in the past to keep both programs running on your computer, accessing the older system as needed to retrieve the necessary data.

I wasn't as clear as I could have been

I don't want to capture all of the calculations on the original work order.

I just want to import key data like order dates, mat and moulding numbers, total price, discount provided, and the notes field along with customer name address, etc.

I can always dig out the original work orders if I have to, but I should not have to enter all of my customer data manually.

There has to be a way to import existing data into the POS as a table.

Wizard knows of this need and may be working on it, but I have no schedule of availability at this time.
