Printer/Framer in Portland, ME?

Where is this person located that Portland is closer than Kennebunk which is below Portland?
Bob Doyle is in Kennebunk.

Here is my plan...

I can make the print and send it to Bob and he can do the framing. As long as I have the original or a finished file, I can make the print. If the original needs to be scanned first, obviously I can do that and then print. My printing work from my scan of the original doesn't leave unless it is as close a match as possible.
If it is from a file supplied by the customer, then what they gave me is what they get.

I'd like to think Bob and I can do this no problem.

....orrrr.. the person is IN Portland and doesn't want to go any further than the city limits.

That would be my second guess, in which case never mind.

If they don't want to do what Ralph suggests they can go to the Portland Mall. I think there's a PrintsPlus there. Maybe they could also run to Staples and get the printing done.....

But you could call Dave at DonMar, or even PM Becky. There are plenty of framers and printers in Portland. They could go to the area around the Portland Museum of Art there are art galleries there, and framers and digital printers, photographers....

I know when my DonMar driver leaves my location there are more stops after me. Many in the Portland area.

Yeah... but we are WAY better than any of those people!

I gave up sarcasm for Lent, so I will take these suggestions seriously and pass them along to her.

Seriously, though, this would be for an ongoing business relationship, so she would prefer not to travel the 35 miles to Kennebunkport to do business. I know that Bob and Ralph are fine people and excellent at what they do, but location location location and all that...

Jim, the other suggestions were serious. Call Dave, or send a PM to Becky (wavy) they both deal with Portland Framers.

adjframes did mention a framer/printer right in Portland you could send your customer there. Maybe the customer has a concern about distance, maybe no car? (I know of many that don't have cars in town.) I have framed for local artists that do hang in galleries in Portland, but I don't get to Portland enough to know the good shops and where to recommend someone go for quality, and in-town convenient work.

If your customer needs a shop that can deliver to her she could call me. I have a pick-up, and access to a van. Not opposed to going to Portland :) But, and this is the deal breaker, Ralph has to be my printer :)

Oh, and I am in Kennebunk, not Kennebunkport.

It would give one more reason to head south and visit the big city!

One of my favorite artist/ customers had to move to Portland as she was having trouble getting around up here after she and her Dr. both decided that she was having too many accidents in the car.
Down there she can get around by bus or taxi or her recumbent trike.

Of course, I can just mail stuff to Bob.

(Hey, Bob... I have a sneaking feeling that we aren't going to get this one.)

poutingcrybaby]That's OK, I don't want the job anyways. Probably "fired" by every shop in Portland and looking for new framers to get "fired" from. Probably one of those designers that wants discounts so steep that you can't afford to open the door for them... Probably...

What color font do I use for sarcastic, tongue in cheek sour grapes comments :)

Jim I hope your customer can find what she is looking for, if not Ralph and I, or any other grumbling Mainer (Erin?) could work with her to make it work for her. We're flexible, friendly and willing to be helpful.
