The Framing Nook
A customer of mine has about 60 - 100 documents she wants protected somewhat economically. She doesn't want them framed - too expensive & no room for them. They will be viewed occasionally only. There must be some kind of mylar sleeves that are sealable for this out there. Maybe I can just wrap them in Mylar & then sandwich that between a window mattes & a ragboard.

Anyone know of a supplier or any good ideas?

Thanks in advance.

HB, you'll probably want to order the Conservation/Archival catalogue from Carr McLean:
http://www.carrmclean.ca/catalogs.htm#Conservation

You may not need to go the encapsulation route - depending on their condition, the client may just want to put each document in an a/f tissue "folder" and keep them in an a/f storage box.

I don't recommend most of the "treatment"
/tape/repair stuff that Carr McLean sells, but the storage materials are fine.

I second Rebecca's idea of using conservation
quality folders with interleaving tissue. We know
from history that works on paper have done very
well when they are stored in books and a stack
of folders behaves much as a book will.
