A client just called needing a "huge" 4 leaf clover that her son found, framed. She wants to preserve it to make sure that it stays green. Is she asking for the impossible, or is there a way to accomplish this? Thanks for any help you can provide!

Mike, it's probably like flowers. You, or much better, THEY, need to find a place that does freeze-drying.

Florists might know of such places.

Me - I'd take a picture of it and throw the original in the compost bin.

(You all need to join the PPFA and read HitchHiker. 85% of the world's knowledge might be right here on The Grumble, but the other 15% is on HH and it's gotta be worth $25 for the first year.)

I am a PPFA member Ron, and as a matter of fact, I put the old helpline into use just now, one of the suggestions was freeze drying. I did find a company somewhat nearby that freeze dries flowers for a living. The lady said for a clover to simply place it inside of a large phone book for 4-6 weeks and that will do the trick, the clover will not lose any of it's color. So now the customer must decide and I won't have to do a thing except frame it. :D

Also, I did ask the customer to call this company and talk to this woman just to verify what she said, so she could hear it first hand, and if she did decide to freeze dry it, she could go directly to this place herself.

Thank you Ron and thank you Diane Day. It pays to be in the PPFA for sure.

-Mike.

I kinda figured you were a member, Mike. By "you all," I meant the 2000 or so Grumblers who are not PPFA members and sometimes ask, "Why should I join?"

The first time you use HH or the helpline to solve a framing problem, you've paid for a year's dues.

just press it.Every single book I ever picked up as a kid at home had flowers or leaves in them somewhere thanks to my mum.It will stay green alright.
