Another Mid America Tabletop is in the books.
Whew!

We had an EXCELLENT showing from our vendors. I think the quality of booths and offerings this year exceded anything we've seen in recent years. Vendors came armed and ready to do business. I personally went home with a STUFFED van and more coming.

Many Kudos and thanks to our exhibitors, who without we could have never offered such a fun event:

Studio Moulding
Attach-EZ
Picture and Frame Industries
Neilson and Bainbridge
W.D. Quinn Saw
Omega Moulding
Decor Magazine
Larson-Juhl
Meadowbrook Insurance
Williamson Company
Crescent
The Frame Game
PPFA
and Frame Tek for donating door prizes!

Attendance was good, but could have been stronger. Nevertheless, we had people who traveled hundreds of miles to attend our show, and we hope they were pleased. I didn't get to greet everyone, but the ones I got to ALL had positive things to say about the show, which made us feel that our efforts were worth it.

John Grimes held a very informative class on glazing canvases, showing examples from his personal collection. I could listen to John talk for hours; he is a fountain of information on Art.

Joyce Michels and I had fun with a very informal (and fun!!) discussion on jazzing up mats for more profit and I think I learned as much as I shared.

We had 6 entries in our competitions, 3 in each the Open and the Print, so everyone earned a ribbon :) The competiton is always fun to enter and /or view, but I'd like to see even more entries next year. I've been to so many of the shops in the area, so I know we have an abundance of talent. Plan now to submit something next September!

Please keep in mind that this is an ANNUAL event, so stay tuned for the NEXT
Mid America September Spectacular in 2010!

This was the first time I have been to St. Louis and I must say that I was impressed by the Mid America Chapter and the show. Barb Pelton and those who helped her put on the show did a great job. I was also impressed with the quality of beautiful entries in the framing competition. The judges in the national are going to have their work cut out for them this year. Congrats to Barb for winning Judges choice.

The trip from MN to MO was long..long...long and we hit St. Louis just in time for a horrible down pour that was so bad we couldn't go more than 30 miles an hour, and because we didn't know our way around or could see where we were going, when we finally got to the Double Tree we never left until it was time to leave for home. But with the number of sales generated from the show it was definately worth the 600 mile trip and the harrowing driving experience getting there. We had fun even though we didn't get to see the Arch! Oh well there will be next year. I will be back again.

But more importantly who won what door prize!!!

Tom

I don't know who else was giving out prizes or who won them, but from Attach-EZ The Great Frame Up of Creve Coeur, MO - Chava Manor won the Free Style Foam cutter and extra blades.

Terra Decorationg Services of St Louis - Deborah Terra Weltman won the set of Invisi-Mount rolls.

Thanks Pat, for the kind words. Jack Kupsky, Joyce Michels, Ken Link, Carolyn Welch, Tina Knoll, John Grimes and all of the vendors helped put this thing together.

I don't know who all won door prizes, but I know Joyce won the LJ prize that I was hoping for! A gift basket stuffed with supplies!

Mary Norton and Jack Kupsky won Frame Tek certificates, along with a couple of people I didn't immediately recognize.

I am glad you had a good trip in spite of the rain, Pat. I have heard from a few of the attendees that your booth was a good addition to our show--they enjoyed it!

I think we signed up 3 new PPFA members, which was great.

Next year, bigger and better.
