Anyone interested in helping to form a Georgia Chapter of PPFA. I just bit on Baers proposal from earlier and joined. Really would like to see a local chapter. If your game on wanting to start a chapter please let me know by e-mail or Grumble mail. I think it would be a tremendous benefit to all of us in the region...

Well shoot I'd think that being in an area as large as Atlanta there'd be some takers. You there, Danimal?

Maybe the PPFA could provide you a list of members in the metro Atlanta area. Then you could do cold calls, visits, cajole them any way you can to get them fired up.

Talk to your Larson rep about using their Norcross facility to host an evening event. Speakers, free food, etc.

Get the word out through your reps, especially since Larson, Roma, Southern and I think Studio are all there in the area.

And to think, if things had been a little different six years ago, this would have been my job.

I posted this a week and a half ago. So far I have received 2 private messages in response. What's up, is there really no interest for a chapter in GA? Come on now, if you're interested let me know. I am not looking for volunteers, just an indicator of support... (OK maybe it is kinda the same thing...)

Some of those in other areas that have worked to start a chapter, how did you start out. My next step is to get a phone list and start calling, but I was hoping for a little more of an indicator from here before jumping...

KwikDraw,
Read Dave's post and do what it suggests. I will add.................

Call Heather Kelso at national (800) 762-9287, she is in chapter relations. I am sure she could connect you with others who have expressed interest. She will be able to tell you how to get the ball rolling. I bet they would even do some of the calling for you to drum up interest.

We here in Colodado belonged to the Zia chapter in NM and we were able to get some money from them to put on a small meeting to see if there was any interest and there was. We had enough people stand up and offer to help and had enough members within our zipcodes to qualify to become a new chapter. Do you belong to some remote chapter elsewhere you could branch off from?

Don't be discouraged by your lack of response here, The G is really a very small part of the industry. In fact, I was the only person out of the first seven board members who ever Grumbled. But, I made some noise and we got a chapter and it has been a very rewarding experience.

Also, if you belong to HH post there too.....................

Good luck!
