24 x 36 poster - approx. 65# SHINY paper. The poster is covered with autographs, many to the very edges and customer wants as much of those showing as possible. I prefer not to do a heat mount because of the various inks used. I'd like to keep it as reversible as possible, so thought I'd hinge mount it but because the paper is SHINY & SLIPPERY, I wonder which hinge product to use. ?rice paste/mulberry? ?gummed paper hinging tape? ?self-adhesive linen hinging tape?

I would consider a float mount, but the poster has been tightly rolled = wavy with lots of crimps (it would look awful!). The customer realizes SOME of the autographs will be cut off.

I am open to all suggestions.

THANK YOU!

I think I would still try to attempt a float mount, with perimeter hinges. No matter what you do, those wrinkles will be visible. I would float it to a somewhat 'wrinkly' looking mat (maybe one of the Crescent ones), depending on color. Or float it on a mat with fabric loosely draped over it.

Hard to say without a photo (any chance of one??)

Acrylic overlay with padded fabric behind it. If it's shiny enough for the risk of newton rings, consider NG acrylic with the etched side in.

The shine on the paper is probably a clay coating, and pressing it up against acrylic could turn disastrous.

If you're not going to flatten it, I'd hinge it with paste, put an 8 ply window on it, then put spacers too, to make sure the poster does not come in contact with the glazing.

Thank you! I have never had the need to use rice paste on anything at all slick/slippery/shiney. I was concerned it might peel off after it has dried and then weighted by gravity when framed.
