I got a card the other day from http://www.myquickprints.com . It looks pretty cool. It looks to be a personalized art that you can download and print. They also seem to have more product then some of the others I have seen. I couldn't find much information on their site as to where to place an order or even to see all of their offering. I also don't know if they sell direct to the public.

Has anybody else signed up?

Does anyone here sell this kind of thing in your store?

How do you market them?

Just got the postcard today and signed up for more info. I think it has potential. There is a 21 page pdf brochure on their site also, did you see that Dave?

It says they are a wholesaler, but of course that doesn't always mean that they don't sell to the public as we have so ofter found out. Good question to ask.

I talked with Dave Mathews yesterday. I did ask him just that and he said that they ONLY sell through retailers. I invited him to the grumble and told him about the commercial section where he could promote his product.

I didn't see the PDF will go look for it now.

I dunno - they seem to be aimed a little lower than Kincades, doncha think?

Just seems like something out of a Miles Kimball catalog. Lowest common denominator - cheesy.

IMHO.

Mar, I don't really care if it is cheesy or not, if the customers want to pay me for it I will sell it to them. The fact that there is no inventory to keep makes it a no risk winner IMO.

All I'm sayin' is that those sorts of personalized items have been sold through a plethora of mail-order catalogs (like I said, Miles Kimball, Walter Drake, What on Earth, Signals, Wireless, etc.) (and presumably now on line) for many years now - but if there is no financial investment for inventory - go for it!

Good luck! :)

I don't know if its from the same company, but I see a lot of these types of things in gift catalogs, Lillian Vernon and whotnot, even in some Equestrian catalogs. `Guess it just depends on your target market.

I would think the younger sect and those with kids and grandkids would go for it.

Doh, Mar you beat me to it!:P

I couldn't remember Lillian Vernon - I knew there was a catalog with a woman's name! Thanks, Jen - that was gonna drive me nuts all day!

I think it's a good concept, tacky or not.
Since most frameshops have lost all the print/poster business, we need to find other avenues to encourage framing sales.
Also, I always believed a framer is in business to enhance and preserve things that go on wall, not judge them.
