I currently run the frame shop on Ramstein Air Base Germany. I was hoping to upgrade how we take orders. Currently we just hand write everything but this may not work once we have to split up where we take orders and where the orders will be actually placed. The quesiton I have is I would love to find a software that could help simplify taking orders and show the customer almost what their order will look like when finished to reduce us having to go from those who take the other to those that make the order. Is there a software out there that can do that?

Thanks in advance.

If I correctly understand your explanation, you may need two separate systems to do what you want to do.

...I would love to find a software that could help simplify taking orders...
A professional Point Of Sale program would accomplish this by providing a cumulative database of customer data, order data, and easily-updated pricing for materials and labor factors. You can uniquely customize these features to match your business.

...and show the customer almost what their order will look like when finished...
Imaging is not a function of most POS systems. A visualization system would enable you to photograph the customer's artwork with your samples of mats and mouldings, and then create a digital composite of the design. Literally, you can show the customer an accurate digital image of the framing design.

Welcome to the Grumble.

I'm not sure I understand 100% what it is you're looking for.

There are two general types of software available for the retail picture framing industry.

POS does pricing. You select the moulding, mat(s), glass, mounting, any special work, etc. The price is determined by pre-set (preferably by you though some POS come with defaults) numbers. Any good POS will have the ability to do updates to prices based on supplier prices (if you are basing price on cost).

Visualization software is also available, which allows you to make a graphic representation of the actual artwork, mat(s) and moulding.

Some POS and Vis programs are or can be integrated.

For your. need I think the best. solution should be a software that combines Pos and Vis.
But I think you'll run in the problem of the language. The same problem I got here in Italy. That's why I choose for visualization the only software I found easy to translate. You can PM me if you want more info.
