Wanted Platen cleaner?

I have a Bienfang vacuum press, and was just cleaning the platen with that little jar of cream and the 2-inch square cleaning pad. Does anyone know of a more efficient method of cleaning the platen? For example, is there a spray cleaner? Maybe a Swiffer Platen Cleaner?

Un-Stik or Unseal is the way to go. Lighter fluid will do just as good.

And one of those green Scotch Brite pads.

I need to do mine too. Maybe when I get caught up.

And the other question is, if I'm always using release paper or a release paper, how does residue get on the platen in the first place??

its transfer from the oversize tissue vs the size of a poster.

But the excess tissue is also covered by the release paper

That is one of those great mysteries of life Paul.

If the foam board is white, the tissue is white, and the release paper is white, why are all the little specks black?

Then again, I use the release boards. They are light blue.

Just like buggers Jerry, they start out white and then when you roll them around between your fingers they turn black!

I use a release board and I wrap it with kraft paper. I also wrapped the sponge like base with kraft paper.
