Help! I have an 8" Wedgwood plate to mount in a shadowbox. The kicker is that the customer wants the plate mounted inside the bottom of the original box, with the lid of the box also displayed in the framing package. I cannot figure any way to do this without punching holes in the bottom of the box and even so my mind is being boggled! Suggestions???

I am sorry I don't have any suggestions but DON"T punch holes in the box!!! That box with the plate is very valuable! My mother collected Wedgwood and I inherited some of it. When you do figure it out and finish the project would love to see it!!

If Jerome's most logical suggestion does not carry the day, you might modify it by making the
frame stand at an angle. If the front is hinged,
the plate and box can be loaded, after the frame
is set in place. This will allow for the plate to
be moved separately from the frame, in the most
shock-absorbant packing possible.
